Groundings: A Somatic Experience of the Enneagram

  • Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, Ignatius Hall 1079 Summit Avenue Saint Paul, MN, 55105 United States (map)

Groundings is a monthly lecture series offered September through May by Sacred Ground in collaboration with Loyola Spirituality Center and the Ignatian Spirituality Center at Saint Thomas More. Groundings is open to anyone interested in deepening their spirituality, their capacity for deep listening, and their contemplative engagement in our world.

Our Enneagram habits are automatic patterns woven into the neural pathways of our bodies. When we are caught in these patterns, shifting into our felt-sense can bring us to a place of freedom.

Mary Noble Garcia and Carolyn Kolovitz will invite us to an opportunity to experience a felt-sense of the Enneagram through guided meditations, stories, somatic exercises and discussion.

Whether you are brand new to the Enneagram or have extensive knowledge, you can expect to leave with an expanded awareness of the Enneagram and compassion for yourself and the people in your life.

Carolyn Kolovitz is a spiritual director at Loyola Spirituality Center. She also regularly leads guided meditations in spirituality circles, Sunday services, and retreats as a way to ground people in the wisdom of their lived experience. Since 2000, she has been using the Enneagram as a guide for growing in understanding and compassion for self and others. In 2023, she completed Anne Mureé’s Full Circle Enneagram courses. She has a BS in Psychology, an MS in Women’s Studies and an MA in Theology as well as a graduate certificate in Spiritual Direction.

Mary Noble Garcia is a spiritual director at Loyola Spirituality Center and a certified Enneagram teacher through The Narrative Enneagram school. In the Enneagram, Mary recognizes a compassionate tool that integrates spirituality, psychology, and body wisdom. Her desire to nurture loving relationships with God, self, and others inspires her to facilitate opportunities to listen with compassion, deepen connections, and grow in freedom. Mary received her MA in theology and certificate in Spiritual Direction from St. Catherine University.
