Meet Mary Kietzmann

Mary is accepting new directees and is happy to accompany people in the Extended Ignatian Exercises.

As a spiritual director I am very aware that the session with my directee is one that the Spirit has called and the One who is really in charge. I facilitate by asking questions and deeply listening. There are infinite approaches as to how the Divine might be inviting this person to deeper connections that bring fullness of life and love. We can explore them together.

Besides being Catholic, I have a rich background in the Protestant Tradition as well, having served as a college campus minister with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship for over 5 years. I am a Mother of three grown sons, and a widow.

My unique background encompasses years of teacher training and teaching in the scriptures. I have a Masters in Theology from The School of Divinity at the University of St Thomas. I was also trained and served with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship for 7 years. Both of the above trained me in Scripture study. I love helping other people encounter God through the Word. Having worked with teenagers during my 21 years of teaching in the religion department at Cretin-Derham Hall, I now am drawn to help young and older adults in their faith formation.

In my life I have experienced troubled times, loss and grief. These have drawn  me closer to the heart of God.

Mary identifies as Catholic with Protestant influences and meets with people at Carondelet Center or though online video conferencing.
