Meet Amy Cotter

Amy is taking new directees.

Amy holds an MA in Theology and a BA in Social Work, both from the University of St Catherine. She received her Certificate training in Spiritual Direction through the five year formation program at Sacred Ground Center for Spirituality in St Paul, MN. She has worked in a variety of Social Work settings over the years. Most recently, she has been employed as a Hospice Chaplain & currently works as a Hospice Grief Counselor.
Lutheran by background, Amy approaches faith & spirituality from a very open-minded and ecumenical place. She enjoys the intersections of psychology & spirituality and science & religion. She is grounded in the belief that God is Love, and our Earth & the Universe abound in this love.
As an optimist, Amy firmly believes deep healing and growth is available to all. She seeks to create a safe & sacred space in which to listen as you ask questions, explore your personal story & perhaps add a new chapter.
Amy’s areas of practice interest include, but are not limited to, issues around dying, death, grief & loss. This can include other times of transition, such as graduation, divorce, adjusting to adulthood, a new relationship, empty-nesting & other mid-life issues.
Amy welcomes seekers and questioners from any faith background, or no faith background.

Special interests of Amy’s include: Guided imagery, bio-spiritual focusing, dream work and the Enneagram (however, I have more learning to do on this topic). As well as what is mentioned above, issues around grief, loss & transition.

Amy identifies as Lutheran, Catholic. Ecumenical and sees people at Carondelet Center, elsewhere in St. Paul, or remotely.
