Barb is open to new directees. She meets with people in St. Paul at Sacred Ground, at her home office in Northfield, or virtually.

It is an honor for me to journey with others on their spiritual path through spiritual direction. I am a listener. I listen to the Holy, to the directee, and to myself. This way the other can hear their own stories and concerns in the presence of the Holy. My responses come from the whispers of the Holy Spirit, my training, and my years of experience as a spiritual director. The entire conversation is prayer because the Holy is present.

I was trained and certified at Sacred Ground Center for Spirituality. I have a master’s degree in school counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. I am a Lutheran and have an open spirit to people in all walks of life and all faith traditions, or no faith tradition.

Individuals enter into Spiritual Direction for a variety of reasons. Some start when they are experiencing a transition in life. Others come with doubts about faith. Some begin because of failing health, aging, or seeking purpose in their life. There are others who start spiritual direction to sort out difficult relationships and the path to loving. Still others come to have a safe and confidential person to talk to about all and any of life’s cares and joys.
